We recently completed a high-spec security installation for a busy MOT center in Grimsby. The goal was to provide total site visibility and 24/7 color evidence to meet strict regulatory standards and protect high-value equipment.
The Challenge
The client needed a comprehensive 12-camera setup that could handle the dark corners of a large workshop and the expansive outdoor forecourt. Standard night vision wasn’t enough; they required high-resolution, color footage around the clock to accurately identify vehicles and personnel, even in the middle of the night.
Our Solution
- 4K Ultra-HD Clarity: We installed a 12-camera Hikvision system running at full 4K resolution. This provides four times the detail of standard HD, allowing the client to zoom in on license plates with incredible sharpness.
- ColorVu Technology: We chose Hikvision’s ColorVu range for this project. Unlike traditional cameras that switch to black-and-white at night, these cameras capture full-color video 24/7. This ensures that a “red car” or “blue jacket” is identifiable at 2:00 AM just as clearly as it is at 2:00 PM.
- Intelligent Motion Detection: The system is tuned with smart analytics to distinguish between human/vehicle movement and “noise” like shadows or wind. This ensures the client only receives meaningful alerts, reducing notification fatigue while maintaining high security.
- Mobile App Integration: We fully configured the system for remote access via the mobile app. The business owner can now view live feeds of the MOT bays, check on the forecourt, and receive instant push notifications for any after-hours activity directly to their phone.
The Result
The MOT center is now equipped with a professional-grade surveillance powerhouse. By combining 4K resolution with 24/7 color imaging, the client has complete peace of mind that every square inch of their facility, from the testing bays to the perimeter, is being monitored with total clarity and real-time responsiveness.
